Alps is your co-pilot, saving you time by creating recommended assignments, grading with feedback, and automating other routine tasks. You can review and approve these before they are shared with students. With this support, you have more time to spend with your students.
Teachers can add, remove, modify, and create course content in Alps Content Studio. They can also seamlessly import existing content in multiple formats, such as Word, Google Docs, PDF, PowerPoint, and Slides, from cloud-based file and curricula repositories such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, GitHub, and more.
Alps uses AI to transform them into rich, interactive activities, augmenting missing content for teachers and students.
Alps creates a predictive model of the student's learning of core concepts. Mastery usually means the student is likely to correctly answer a question on a concept with a greater than 90% probability. Lower probabilities are associated with lower levels of performance.
Engagement is also modeled as a predictive score, considering the time spent on a given problem relative to other students. Lower engagement can indicate that the student is either fluent with the concept and needs much less time to complete an activity or that the student has provided a response without much thought. It may also indicate plagiarism.
We will slowly roll out AI features for students, with teachers in complete control. Our current AI features are available exclusively to teachers to assist them with content recommendations, grading, and feedback automation.
Student safety is one of the key design principles that permeate the use of artificial intelligence in Alps. 2Sigma School takes compliance with FERPA and COPPA seriously in designing and implementing all our products and processes. We take numerous proactive steps to anonymize student learning data throughout our processing, including using AI models.
Students are added to Alps using one of three approaches:
